FOUNDER’S STORY — IN HER OWN WORDS
A life shaped by service, creativity and purpose
I lived a very simple life with my family, but I always wished to do more, to love deeper and serve people in a meaningful way. When I got the chance, I started volunteering at community level, hoping to meet people from different cultures and understand their challenges.
In 2016, I volunteered with Raleigh Community in Morogoro, and that’s when I truly discovered the joy of service. I worked with women and children, and the love I gave came back to me tenfold.
Eventually, I found myself drawn to fashion—learning how to sew, create and express myself. I volunteered backstage at Swahili Fashion Week, and after years of dedication, I saw my own designs on that same runway in 2019.
That journey inspired me to start DANO. I want every woman not just to survive, but to thrive emotionally, creatively and economically.
